The National Park was opened in 1898 under the orders of President Paul Kruger. The Park stretches from the Crocodile River in the south up to the crocodile infested Limpopo River which is an international boundary. This amazing park covers an area of over 20,000 square km. There is over 1800 km of roads stretching through the park of which 700 km are tarred.

This amazing Nature Reserve and its surrounding areas offer “The Big Five” along with other numerous species. Amazing lodges, game drives and located only 1.5 hours from the Las Vegas of Africa  - Sun City. The 150,000 acre Madikwe Game Reserve is situated in the far North of South Africa’s Northwest Province, close to the Botswana border. Only a 3 hour drive from Johannesburg this Park has now become one of South Africa’s prime safari destinations. Madikwe is home to some 66 large mammal species including elephant, lion, leopard, rhino and cape buffalo. Over 300 bird species also inhabit this region. The reserve consists of vast plains of open woodlands and grasslands, and cut by the rugged Rant van Tweedepoort, and bordered in the south by the beautiful Dwarsberg mountains.  You will be taken on day and night game drives or bush walks.
